Laura and Mark are celebrating “five years on the fourth floor” and all are invited to visit during their Open Studio event. After an unceremonious building closure where they and many other artists worked at the beginning of the pandemic, Laura and Mark relocated to the West Bottoms of KC. They have been making art in the 1800 square foot space dubbed “The Seed Crusher” ever since. The name comes from a piece of equipment that the 4th floor once housed when the 100 year old building was a food processor.

There will be art, food, drink and more than 30 other artists participating within the two buildings labeled “Holsum Food Products.” Laura and Mark are also hosting recent Kansas City Art Institute graduate (‘24) Keiran Ackermann for her first post-grad solo exhibition in the Seed Crusher Projects exhibition space.
